The Help (2011)

Surprisingly a hugely successful commercial gem cum Oscar contender.

African-American maids' hardships are melted and concentrated into 2 hours of tearful laughter and gloomy reflection.

Life Planning

So what's your road map for the next three years?

I lose sleep to plan.

Memories of Murder (2003)

Again if there were any national movie competitions, who should represent Korea?

Tough pick I know. Only rare few can stir as much everlasting goosebumps and wild imagination as 杀人回忆.

Seriously don't mess around with Korean movies. 杀人回忆 can take on any Hollywood classic, head on.

Unless he has $$$$$$$$$$

blah blah blah...

Anwar: Dey, what's the big deal huh?

Even if he were to like to fu*k from behind, then so what?

People's business what. So busy-body. Tsk tsk tsk.

Fu*k from behind has got no relation with people's ambition/ability to improve the country right?

Results are key

Results are key.

Cruel fact. How straightforward. Apply to almost all.

John Sculley

Steve Jobs to John Sculley :
"Do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life? Or do you want to come with me and change the world?"

Hire top talent with top dollars in exchange for the change of world.

There's actually a simple algorithm to do a safe and not bad movie.

Have to quote Jim Valvano again -
"If you laugh, think and cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day."

Please allow me to confess that 彭于晏 is too good-looking to be true.

I applaud their hard work and gritty performance. I'll reflect on my part.

Thanks for your recommendation.

If there were any national movie competition, behold Taiwan's proud representative. Finally, after all these years.

Before this my pick would be 悲情城市 or 臥虎藏龍, the rest like 海角七號, 艋舺, 那些年, 我們一起追的女孩... still have plenty to do for world class.
