Jack Reacher (2012)

Only 2 points to note: Tom Cruise and the surprise legend Werner Herzog.

I dislike how uncool and unrespectful Mr. Cruise just finishes off the Great Werner Herzog within 10 seconds. Let the man talks for a while more.

Lincoln (2012)

Let's welcome the best of 2013.

This humble giant carries the proud flag of how one of the best movies should be made. Enough's been said in my other posts, similar to The King's Speech, Lincoln for the win. No need for award presentations or gala dinner, just mail them the Oscars would do.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)

At first I was skeptical about dwarf. So not cool with shorty dwarlves fighting.

Well. They harden me up.

The Master (2012)

This is to me the best snub of 2013.

If Argo's a science, this is an art. Either you love it, confused, bored or hate it, once again Paul Thomas Anderson is determined to bare human nature to its extreme purest nudity. Such psychopath.

Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix delivered monstrous performances that in my opinion the only worthy ones to challenge Daniel Day-Lewis for Best Actor. While there is Lincoln for reference, the 2 beasts created and lived up their own characters from sketch.

Lawless (2012)

Comments please refer to Gangster Squad's post below.

Worse sh*t this time round. For the first time I am expecting so much of Lord Oldman yet can't see sh*t of my Lord. This cast (alongside Gangster Squad) could have easily sparred with Godfather/Goodfellas but now looked like tears in the rain.

Gangster Squad (2013)

Deeply disappointed with the storytelling and directing.

One of the best assembles of acting talents yields one of the best forgotten 2 hours.

Ridley Scott's Storyboard

My brother told me Ridley Scott draws his own illustrations for storyboarding. Only God knows how much ink has he painted on this world.

No wonder his shots are so picturesque to the maximum class, didn't know Dali and Picasso lived in between his ears. Blade Runner's 'Tears in Rain' scene pretty much sums up the essence of his brilliance.

Argo (2012)

Not US/Canadian here but solid movie and splendid B. Affleck's work to piece every details together.

But serious 2013 Oscars Best Movie contender? Doubt it.

Roy Benavidez (Medal of Honor)

"If the story of his heroism were a movie script, you would not believe it".
- President Ronald Reagan

Damn right I can't believe it, as legendary as Pavlov's House. If you thought his Medal of Honor action was beastly, this is the god who before that stepped on landmine, refused to be told not to walk again, trained numerous nights through excruciating pain, then transformed a disability into none, still managed a Medal of Honor years later.

Firstly how possible is one to simply disable human physical disability by his own will?? My God.

Downfall (2004, German: Der Untergang)

Absolute madness. Great movie. This is so called think out of box.

Pavlov's House (Fortress on Germans' map)

"Germans lost more men trying to take Pavlov's house than they did taking Paris."
- Vasily Chuikov, commanding general of the Soviet forces in Stalingrad bragged

Now I know how come some pc shooting/ww games maps are named as such. Salute.

Such brilliant Silver Linings Playbook!

Ask Mr. De Niro anything especially any relationship dilemma. Omg he just knock the ass out of me.

I'll be burnt alive in hell with Nazi gas and dragon fire if I don't reach back.

Solved.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

All the while I've been doubting my mental health. To be able to empathize such seemingly senseless story hints that somewhere is twisted within me.

Looking forward for more surprises from the up and coming David O. Russell. He has the unique vision to juice out and glue together pure inspirations from random, small, some even tom, dick and harry crazy characters. He can be CSI or sharp sniper.

Home Alone

It's been a while.

Best for expressing and creating.

Hello myself. How're you lately.

Les Misérables (2012)

After so many years with the musical version still playing in mind, this film version still moves me and my chair along.

With due respect am I the only one who feel Mr. Crowe was a bit odd?

I absolutely feel for you Mr. Jackman, such class. But too bad Mr. Day-Lewis is too high up there.

Django Unchained (2012)

Wth 8.6?! So against IMDB's rating. So surprise with its Oscar entry.

Nevertheless a better assemble than Inglourious Basterds', but every scene after the mega combo Mr. DiCaprio and Mr. Waltz was no where near Kill Bill's intensity and Reservoir Dogs' teasing x-factor.

Losing steam somewhere, even all the standard trash-talking combined was not even half as smooth as Pulp Fiction's Mr. Wolf 's or Mr. Walken's. Do not lose your grip Mr. Tarantino!
